Muzak

September 28, 2006 at 3:01 am (Music)

The other day I was in Win-Dixie and I found my self tapping my toe to the music when it suddenly struck me — it’s elevator music!!!! This stuff is seriously addictive. I might even like to go and work for the company that makes this hypnotic grocery store music. I heard that the Muzak musicians just sit around a room staring at the product they are working for for inspiration. BTW look out for me in the produce section relaxing, ha! The website is pretty cool too. So many companies use it!! I’m sooo glad that they chose to invest in such a great thing.

Standardized Testing

September 28, 2006 at 2:42 am (College)

When Adam disobeyed God, sin entered the world. And when sin entered the world, so did standardized testing. What a horrible horrible thing it is.

Today

September 27, 2006 at 1:07 am (Football, Misc., Music, T.V., Theology)

This post has a variety of stuffs so enjoy. =D

First of all I am going to talk about my obligation as a man to follow football. I have an awesome team in Fantasy football — or had =/ . My star player (only in name, cuz he has had a very slow first few weeks), Shaun Alexander has a broken foot. -_- o noes. One guy wants to give me Deuce Mcallister and Corey Dilon for him — is it a good trade ?! I’m not sure… the same guy wants to give me Morris (Alexander’s Backup) for the Philadelphia DST…. I am confused.. *sigh* whelp, here is the Fantasy analysis of Shaun Alexander…

“Alexander’s owners now have a reason for his limited play through three weeks. Obviously, Alexander should be reserved in leagues and replaced in active lineups with Maurice Morris (you did draft him with a late-round pick, didn’t you?). And for those owners who passed on Alexander because of the infamous ‘Madden jinx,’ our hats go off to you.”

nuff said ><

Next, Gilmore Girls — ha. Havent really been following it, but it is a pretty good show. It has so many cool references, is extremely witty, and it is soo funny. Plus, it has Alexis Bledel — probably the main reason why I watch the show. Alexis Bledel > Morgan Webb (who is also really cool btw)… -_-

Well, onto some Theology.

In my philosophy class we’ve been talking about mortifying our flesh, and some of it started to sound a little Calvinist >_> …. It kinda brushed over T of the dreaded TULIP, ha! — Total Depravity, the point that says that we are completely unable to do right without God. We even had to memorize this verse —–> Psalm 14:1 The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none who does good.

Also in my Devo’s I came across this verse also ——-> Psalm 16:2 I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.”

Surely, these verses point out that God is the only source of good, and without Him, we are desperately wicked.

Bam! Did you think that I was going to say that last sentence?

Music

September 26, 2006 at 1:53 am (Music)

What can I say? Music is where it is at. I am a fan of pretty much all types save reggeaton. Recently I’ve been getting into electronica, which is sooo awesome — great for just reading and chewing the cud. Follow this link for a schmorgusbord of electronica experiences — somafm.com/listen . I’ve played the saxophone for quite a while now, but recently I’ve been attempting Jazz. Now, Jazz cannot be taught, so I’ve heard. Left-Brained, inside-the-box, Classical oriented, uninspired players with no jazz background like yours truly have less of a chance of getting into college, especially with a saxophone. I have a year of cramming before me. I say, I wish my school had some jazz in its music progam.
